Caitlin Bridgland- January 2012 Report
Caitlin Bridgland’s latest training and competition update
Caitlin Bridgland – January 2012 Report
The start of a new year brings with it new opportunities and challenges! And I am excited to think what
2012 will hold for me and the decisions I will make with respect to Triathlons this year.
January has started off with a bang!! After Busso I took a couple of weeks off training – physically and
mentally to repair and relax. Then when January rolled around, I decided to race as many local events as
I could to mix up my training and enjoy some short course racing. This involved running events,
aquathons, sprint tri’s, olympic distance and open water swims. Some of which I did well in and the
others…. Well thank goodness I’m an endurance athlete as I don’t think I can keep up with those
sprinters!
After January, the next few months will involve training, training and some more training. My schedule
for 2012 doesn’t look that jammed packed from an outsider’s perspective but I am really focused on my
Kona 2012 preparation so I have decided to make the races I do compete in, count. My schedule for
2012 is,
-
Singapore Ironman 70.3
-
Challenge Cairns 2/80/20
-
Long Course World Championships – Spain
-
Ironman World Championships – Hawaii
-
Busselton Ironman
Until next month,
Caitlin Bridgland
